Erin Ellis graduated from Cornell University with a Bachelor of Science degree (Dean's List) in 2003. She received her law degree from Queen’s University in 2007, and was admitted to the Ontario Bar in 2008.
Erin is a partner with the firm, specializing in civil litigation, with a focus on representing clients involved with civil sexual abuse and institutional abuse claims. She is passionate about representing survivors and has been advocating for their legal rights since joining Jellinek Law Office in 2011. Erin understands this is a challenging area that requires compassion, dedication, and strong advocacy skills. She has handled many of these cases, both through the civil court system, and at the Criminal Injuries Compensation Board, in order to help survivors receive the compensation they deserve.
In addition to civil sexual abuse cases, Erin also practices other types of personal injury litigation, including slip and falls, occupier’s liability cases, bicycle accidents, and catastrophic motor vehicle accidents.
Prior to joining Jellinek Law Office in 2011, Erin practiced civil litigation at a downtown Toronto insurance defence firm, where she experienced the practice of personal injury law from the defence perspective. This allowed Erin to familiarize herself with defence tactics and has provided her with a unique perspective when negotiating and advocating on her clients’ behalf.
Erin is currently a member of the Ontario Trial Lawyers Association, the Ontario Bar Association, and the Canadian Bar Association.
